We’re wrapping up Kate Roth week with a fun feature on one of my favorite authors! I’ve had some time to pick her brain this week, and I’m excited to share with you! We’ve got a Q&A, playlists, info on all of Kate’s books, and more! Let’s get started!
Meet Kate Roth
The ideas haven’t stopped flowing since. She enjoys writing in all sub-genres of romance and even has a few surprises up her sleeve for the future. She is a small business owner and lives in Indiana with her husband, Adam and their dog, Sampson.
Q&A
1) What’s the writing process like for you? Are you big on planning and outlines? Do you wing it? Pray for divine intervention?
I usually start by winging it. I let the story come as I feel it and then once I have an idea of where it could go and where it will end up, I try to outline so I don’t forget the details.
2) Who are some of your go-to books/authors?
I’m lucky enough to have my best friend Britni Hill be in the business too and I adore her books. We are critique partners so I always get to read her stuff and I’m usually clamoring for it. I really like Emily Giffin and Gail McHugh. A lot of times I got back to my first love, this YA romance series I was obsessed with called Making Out that started with the book Zoey Fools Around. I reread that a lot 🙂
3) When you’re not busy writing swoon-worthy characters for us, what do you like to do?
I love going to the movies! I’m also a little crafty so sometimes I’m cross stitching, making gifts or making my own cleaning products. (Your own cleaning products? Wow, that’s industrious! **cough** showoff **cough**)
4) Let’s say you’re taking a time out on a deserted island. What are three things you’d absolutely have to bring with you?
My kindle, my laptop and a bottle of red (err…better make that a case. A barrel?)
5) What’s next for you? Anything exciting coming up?
I’m working on the next book in the Desire Resort series which I hope to have out early next year. But sooner than that I’m co-hosting Indie Unmasked: The Indy Author Event in Indianapolis in just 2 months! I can’t wait to hang with 47 fellow authors and hundreds of readers in my hometown 🙂
Speaking of Indie Unmasked, apparently it’s this awesome signing that Kate is planning (and signing at!), and it will be followed by a kickass masquerade ball! Is that the coolest idea, or what? The event will be held on November 15, 2014. You can also check out the Facebook page for more info!

Kevin meets young singer, Nina Jordan, who takes his breath away with the sound of her voice. The connection is instantaneous and mutual on their first date, but both are crestfallen when they discover days later, to their horror, Nina is Kevin’s student at the local high school.
Deciphering between notions of love and lust, fate and coincidence, Kevin and Nina find themselves unable to turn their backs on what they can’t deny is a once in a lifetime feeling.

Then one day a mysterious stranger walks into her life and changes everything. Russell is sweet and a little weird and Valerie can’t help but think he’s hiding something. He instantly acts as though he knows her and his familiar blue eyes seem to be looking past her broken heart, straight into her soul.
After a deadly turn of events cause Valerie to run away yet again, Russell must consider sharing the truth about what he is with her. But his feelings for her, a promise made long ago, and the yearning to shed his secret and live as a human force him to break the ancient laws of his kind to protect Valerie at all costs.
Suddenly named the acting president of her uncle’s record label, former pop princess Sabrina Walker is finally ready to grow up. While her professional life moves forward, she still clings to the last fragment of her past life in the form of an uncertain relationship with her manager, Beau.
When Sabrina hires handsome, young assistant, Wade Lawson, he awakens in her the hidden confidence she’s always desired. What starts as a casual affair quickly intensifies to something much more.

Love. Family. Business.
Talent manager, Beau Harris only cares about one of those things. His career is suddenly in a downward spiral and the only friend he has left is client and pop star, Vanessa Curtis.
Seeking refuge from the life he’s come to loathe, Beau moves in with Vanessa to focus on her upcoming tour. Yet unexpectedly, he ends up focusing more on his budding friendship with her sister and back-up dancer, Whitney.
Finally able to open up, Beau and Whitney share with each other the vulnerabilities they’ve hidden from the rest of the world. Unable to deny that their connection burns deeper than attraction, they’re forced to confront the feelings they’ve long since given up on. But the emotional baggage, the struggle to break old patterns, and the fear of what Vanessa will think makes falling in love more complicated than they could’ve imagined.
Love. Family. Business.
Those three things now hopelessly woven together, Beau will have to fight for the happily ever after he never knew he truly wanted.
