Chaos MC #3

The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.
Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .
THIS JUST IN: Carson “Joker” Steele is the love of my life. One of my favorite Kristen Ashley heroes to date, HE.IS.EVERYTHING. I cannot accurately express in words how much I love this character, and this book. Ride Steady is without question the best book in the Chaos series thus far, and has ranked among my top favorite KA reads of all time. When I finished this book, I immediately wanted to start it all over again.
Ride Steady had me engrossed from the very beginning. The prologue alone was an emotional, taut, meaningful story within a story. It pulled at my heartstrings and I was immediately in love with Carson and Carissa. I felt like the prologue could even stand on it’s own as a short story.
In Joker, we get an atypical Kristen Ashley alpha with an amazing heart. When he loves, he loves FIERCELY, and it makes you love him all the more. From the very beginning, I knew that he was something special, and I was not wrong. He’s intense, he’s gifted, and through Chaos MC, he’s surrounded himself with a brotherhood and a family of his own choosing.
Carissa was also really something special. Unlike a lot of KA stories where our hero relentlessly pursues our heroine, we’re treated to a headstrong female lead who sees something she wants and makes it her mission objective to make it hers. I loved following her pursuit of the reticent Joker.
But the two together? They’re FIRE. Their love permeates the page, and as a reader, you can feel their bond. Add little Travis into the mix, and this book becomes irresistible.
As a reader, it’s a pleasure to get lost in the world of Chaos MC, there’s just something about this group that draws you in, makes you feel like a part of the story. While we’re following the journey of Joker and Carissa, we’re also following along with Chaos. There is a lot going on behind the scenes, and we can tell that there will be a lot of excitement in future Chaos books.
Even more than a love story, Ride Steady is a story of overcoming your past and creating a family of your own, remembering that you’re not alone in this world.
Kristen Ashley can just plain write a story. Her talent is something truly special. She does more than just introduce some characters, put them in interesting situations, and tie everything up with a pretty little bow. She creates an entire world, and she involves the readers in that world. Her characters become your friends, and you experience life right along with them. The true beauty in her books is that you don’t say goodbye to these friends once their book is over. You know that their life continues on, and Kristen lets us visit with them again and again through their cameo appearances in other books, which is just about my favorite thing EVER.
There’s a reason why Kristen Ashley reigns supreme on my list of favorite authors. Everything she writes is gold, and Ride Steady is no exception.
Meet Kristen Ashley
Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
