Cause you are my invisible strings
You’re the ties that bind me whole
You’re all that keeps me together
You’re the dark matter of my soul
It’s been six long months since Gabriel left and Noelle’s nightmares are swallowing her whole.
In a last ditch attempt to save her sanity, Jax takes her to Cal Henway, the infamous and enigmatic Master of Kink, to see if he can slay her demons. He, in turn, entrusts her care to Master Blue – Dom, loveable rogue and practical joker.
Blue knows the only way to silence her demons is to sate them, but will his journey through the darkest parts of her desires save her, or break her beyond all repair?

Excerpt
The loudest silence…the concept played on her mind as she gave up on dinner and washed up her bowl and spoon. She knew about loud silences. Sometimes it felt like everything was screaming inside her head and no-one could quiet it because no-one else could hear it. Closing her eyes, she tried to imagine Gabriel’s voice as he sang. His demons had shredded themselves on his vocal chords, pouring through her soul in unchained deliverance, soaring in harmony with her own darkness. His silences had echoed. They must have cut him even more deeply than her silences cut her, because he had the gift of song to let it out. She was mute.
Her restless eyes fell on the piece of paper again and she frowned. She may not have the voice to sing, but she certainly had the words to speak. Scooping up the pen, she just let the words flow from her in a stream, trying to articulate how she felt. When she was done, she tried to rearrange them into some sort of song format, talking herself through some of the Darkness Falls lyrics to try and get a feel for the layout.
An hour later she had something she was almost happy with and sat back, feeling strangely emotional. She hadn’t realised how hard it would be to put it down on paper. She wrote the word “Silence” at the top of the page and read it through one last time.
And my demons rolled beneath my skin
Existing in a soundless scream
And it’s the loudest silence…
The loudest silence…
And it’s the loudest echoing silence
That hurts the most.
I drown in darkness uncontained
I am Jezebel, the red, the rage
Don’t let me scream in silence.
I’m locked in silence.
Don’t let me cry out in silence…
It hurts the most.
If in silence I must, broken, lie
Be not my heart, nor lover mine
For my darkness will drown you
My demons tear you
And the silence that hurts the most
Destroys us both
Yes…that was how it felt. And the more she stared at the ugly words, the more she realised how true they were. Her darkness would drown Jax. Her demons would tear at him because she couldn’t contain them, and the screaming silences in her head would destroy them both in the end. She was sure of it. Staying here was no good for either of them. Gabriel was right. Sometimes love just isn’t enough to make everything work.
About The Author
Ivory Quinn is an author of indeterminate youth, living in a land where the sun rarely shines but the mist makes everything magical. She likes men and books, but doesn’t think either makes a great sandwich filling. Unmarried and living with other creative types, she has a healthy relationship with her bed. She wishes that writing was her day job, but sadly has a large percentage of non-writing time, made bearable only by classic rock and lots of caffeinated things. Her favourite things are fan mail, cake and men in kilts. She does not see these things as mutually exclusive.
