Lauren has decided her marriage is over, but has yet to tell Jay, her abusive husband of the past twenty five years. On a night out with girlfriends, she has a few drinks and musters the courage to shamefully come clean over the abuse she has suffered over the years.
Gabriel joins his brothers for a Friday night drink at a local bar, thirty five, good looking and single after a very brief, failed marriage, all he is ever on the lookout for is a hook up….Even names aren’t important to him…Straight sex, no complications.
Watch as their worlds collide, neither of them prepared for the effect each will have on the other. The chemistry is instant and overwhelming and has the possibility to destroy them but will the mind blowing sex be enough to keep them together and overcome each of their pasts?
Their story is sometimes harrowing and heartbreaking and touches on subjects all too often avoided. Don’t expect a hearts and flowers romance read, although that is there too, along with some very funny moments.
From The Mind of Mo
What can I say about this book? Sexy, snarky, emotional, tense, this book is a myriad of emotions. When we first meet Lauren, she’s decided to leave her abusive husband. If that situation doesn’t rock her world enough, a chance meeting with Gabriel sends her world into a tailspin.
Their connection is immediate, and palpable. Even though Lauren doesn’t want to get close to him until she gets her marital situation under control, circumstances throw them together much sooner than expected, and then all bets are off!
I know that Lauren was going through hell in this book, but I can’t lie, sometimes she drove me NUTS. She had a lot of insecurities, especially since she’s 10 years older than sexy boy toy Gabriel. Her jealousies worked my nerves a bit, too. But I was happy for her that she was finally able to let go and be happy.
Then there’s Gabriel…what can we say about Gabriel??
Ummmmm….yeah. Gabriel exudes sex, and is unapologetic about it. He likes to have fun, and have a lot of it. But something in Lauren calls to him, and he does a complete 180. He’s a different man, and he’s happy to change his ways to be with her.
But their relationship isn’t all sunshine and roses. Lauren’s ex-husband is not about to make her life easy, and she’s unsure how her children will react to all the changes in her life. Gabriel is not without his issues, as well, and his past definitely comes back to haunt him in his new life.
Lesley Jones tells a fun, sweet, steamy, and interesting story. I even learned quite a bit, after Googling all of the Aussie-isms in this book! Believe you me, at the end of this one, you’ll be dying for the next book, Resolution! I know I am!

Meet Lesley Jones
I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne Australia. It’s a whole new way of life for us down here,we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.
As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football…The round ball version; I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work; I am also rather partial to a glass… or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.
